Tuchel: Neuer's deployment at the start of the season "too ambitious goal", evades Kane questions

Rottach-Egern - Bayern Munich's coach Thomas Tuchel (49) does not believe in the deployment of national football goalkeeper Manuel Neuer (37) for the Bundesliga season start in five weeks against Werder Bremen.

"I believe that the start of the league and the Supercup are too ambitious goals," said the 49-year-old at a press conference on Saturday: "Considering the severity and unusualness of the injury, we simply need patience."

Tuchel also confirmed that Neuer will not participate in Bayern Munich's Asia tour from July 24th to August 3rd, including three test games in Tokyo and Singapore.

The plan is to integrate him into team training afterwards. Since his lower leg fracture in December, the captain has not played for the German champions.

During his first public appearance after the summer break, Tuchel also avoided giving a specific statement about the current status of the transfer negotiations concerning desired striker Harry Kane (29).

"Unfortunately, I have a very boring answer to this very interesting question: that I naturally do not comment on players who are not under contract with us. This also applies to this player," said the FC Bayern coach.

Will the transfer of Min-jae Kim be announced soon?

The desired transfer of the English national team captain has not yet been realized. Several offers are said to have already been made to Kane's club Tottenham. Uli Hoeneß (71) is confident that the king transfer of Harry Kane to FC Bayern Munich will be successful.

Coach Tuchel also did not publicly confirm the already assumed transfer of South Korean center-back Min-jae Kim (26) from SSC Napoli. They aim to replace Lucas Hernández (27) who has moved to Paris Saint-Germain, "it is no longer the biggest secret who the player is," said Tuchel.

"We will try to announce a deal in the next few days to fill the gap."
