Yahoo birthday before the last minute of the game, the visitors took advantage of two of their many opportunities to reach the final score of 3:1. On the whole, that was ultimately too little from the hosts over the course of 90 minutes.

The grass ball players had virtually no ball possession in the initial phase. The Sky Blues let the ball flutter leisurely through their own ranks while RB waited for mistakes and wanted to switch quickly.

Nevertheless, the Bundesliga team was quite passive. Sooner or later, City had to seize an opportunity - and after 14 minutes of play, it finally came to that.

There was chaos in the Leipzig penalty area and the hosts finally were lucky that Phil Fodens' shot narrowly went to the right.

City was getting better and kept having more shots. The Saxons, on the other hand, let themselves be pushed deeper into their own half. And as expected, due to these circumstances, it led to a goal.

It resulted from an English attack on the right side. RB only watched each pass. Rico Lewis finally passed unopposed into the penalty area, where Foden sprinted up and netted the back of the net with a hop for the visitors' 1:0 (25.).

It revived memories of the 0:7 debacle from the previous season, in which Leipzig also had no chance.

The Citizens' dominance was almost frightening. They didn't allow anything in the first half and continued to be a threat. The Bulls needed to contribute more.

RB Leipzig surprisingly equalizes against Manchester City

The first few minutes in the second half remained, nonetheless, a reflection of the first half. RB lost too many balls and seemed very discouraged.

However, there was a sudden flash of the class that the players had demonstrated so often this season.

A ball recovery in their own half, Yussuf Poulsen delightfully continued into the run of Lois Openda on the right. The Belgian remained composed and discharged into the penalty box continuing his run. The ball hit the left post and bounced back into the goal for 1:1 (48.).

City responded with furious attacks. But Fodens' free kick after 63 hands around the clock hit the crossbar - luck for RB!

Nevertheless, Leipzig coach Marco Rose was unfazed, bringing even more offense onto the field with Timo Werner and Benjamin Sesko in response.

Just at the moment when the hosts were slowly presenting themselves as equals, the visitors scored a dream goal.

Jeremy Doku and Julian Alvarez played the ball on the left edge of the penalty area. Without momentum, the latter finally took a shot from a standstill. The ball gently lowered itself into the top right corner - a dream goal, hard luck for RB (84.).

The hosts tried everything once again, but during the stoppage time, they even ran into a counterattack, which Doku converted to the final score of 3:1. Given the dominant first half, this was completely justified.

The Saxons will continue in the Bundesliga at home against VfL Bochum on Saturday. ManCity will not play until Sunday evening, away at FC Arsenal.
