Boris Tashchy, Aue player, feels confident in his new role as number ten: "I have a very good feeling"

Aue - The first weeks of summer preparation have shown that Boris Tashchy (29) will be given more responsibility at FC Erzgebirge Aue in the future. The 29-year-old will play a bigger role in the considerations of head coach Pavel Dotchev (57). Following Dimitrij Nazarov's (33) departure, it seems that Tashchy will be Aue's new number ten.

However, this task is not entirely new for the Ukrainian. "Actually, that's my position. It always depends on the coach. If he wants me to play as a striker, I'll do that too," Tashchy points out.

"At the end of last season under Pavel, I played as a number ten. That, the new beginning with the team, and Pavel and Matze Heidrich's plan convinced me. That's why I decided to extend for another year. Now I have a very good feeling," emphasizes the offensive player. It could have been the right decision.

As one of the more experienced players, he also has to take the lead. However, not as a loudspeaker, as Tashchy reveals when discussing his nature: "I'm someone who is rather quiet, whether here or at home, and therefore more of the calm player type who likes to help the guys. But a leader alone won't help us."

And further: "The group as a whole and the atmosphere are important. If both fit, everyone has the same goal, and there is no formation of cliques, we have a good chance of having a decent season."

Mother and sister fled from Ukraine: "There is nothing worse than war"

When Tashchy is not involved in football, he dedicates his free time to his family.

"I spend a lot of time with my wife and my daughter, who was born two years ago. As a professional, I'm often away," says Tashchy.

Being there for his family is important to him. His mother and sister fled to Germany as a result of the war in Ukraine. His father remains in Odessa.

"There is nothing worse than war. I hope Ukraine wins and my mother and sister can return."
